A pH probe study is a test to measure the amount and seriousness of acid that may be backing up through the esophagus, the tube that connects the throat to the stomach, into the throat; it also measures any acid that you might eat or drink. The goal is to see the level of acid exposure over 24 hours and if this correlates with your symptoms.
