Improve Your Speech & Reduce Your Accent

Find A Specialist

Clear communication is key in today's world. ENT and Allergy Associates provides targeted training for effective speech, presentation skills, and accent reduction. We all know that first impressions matter, from the clarity of a phone greeting to the confidence conveyed through speech. Our speech-language pathology programs help individuals speak with distinction, clarity, and confidence to make a lasting impression. Whether it's improving articulation or reducing accents, the Voice and Swallowing Center can help you communicate with precision and authority.

Anyone who speaks professionally can benefit from a program of speech improvement or accent reduction. This includes:

  • Salesmen
  • Executives
  • Actors
  • Secretaries
  • Teachers
  • Clergy

Anyone who feels they need help to clearly articulate their speech and project their voice can be helped with speech improvement techniques. People with a strong accent who are asked to repeat or who want to minimize their accent can also benefit from the program. Any individual who wants to present himself or herself with a confident voice, a clear message, and a dynamic delivery can improve in a short time with established techniques.

Getting Started

Ready to get started? At ENT and Allergy Associates, a thorough evaluation of the speech and voice organs will be done during the first visit. A speech profile is identified from this evaluation and a program is outlined based on each individual's needs. Goals are established within a time frame and "brush up" sessions are scheduled once the goals are met.

If you’re ready to learn more about speech-language pathology and our other voice and swallowing services, contact ENT and Allergy Associates today.

What Skills Are Addressed in This Program?

What Skills Are Addressed in This Program?

Speech-language pathology can help people of all ages and backgrounds overcome a wide range of speech difficulties, including the following:

  • Articulation
  • Postures
  • Gestures
  • Pauses with emphasis
  • Speaking rate variations
  • Tongue and jaw accuracy
  • Eye contact
  • Dress and presentation
  • Specific exercises depending on the accent to be changed
  • Reduction and elimination of stage fright

The time it takes to see results will vary depending on what is being addressed. For accent reduction, some people notice changes after 2 or 3 sessions. When the accent is strong, it may take 8-10 sessions. For speech improvement, the number of sessions depends on the goals of the speaker. Daily practice is blended into the work and social settings as soon as the client recognizes the new versus the "old way" of speaking.
