About Mark Friedel, MD, MPH
Dr. Mark Friedel, MD, MPH, will begin practicing with ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP, effective January 1, 2025.
Dr. Mark Friedel is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He received an undergraduate degree in biology and community health from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts and his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University – Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to medical school, Dr. Friedel received a master’s degree in public health, health policy and health management at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York, New York. Dr. Friedel served his otolaryngology residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry – New Jersey Medical School (now Rutgers Medical School) in Newark, New Jersey. He also pursued advanced fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Sinus and Skull Base Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA following residency training.
Dr. Friedel has served as faculty on several academic courses in innovative cutting-edge approaches and techniques to address complex sinus and skullbase diseases, including the annual Endoscopic Skullbase course at Jefferson Medical College. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the American Rhinological Society. Dr. Friedel has many peer-reviewed scientific publications and has contributed to published surgical textbook chapters on complex surgical techniques.
Dr. Friedel provides general and specialized ENT care to patients of all ages, including children. He enjoys all aspects of the practice of Otolaryngology, but specializes in complex sinus, allergy and nasal diseases, including nasal polyps, turbinate obstruction, deviated septum obstruction, as well as diseases of the anterior and central skull base, including pituitary gland tumors.
Dr. Friedel is a native of Long Island, NY, but has lived in and around the greater Philadelphia area and Southern New Jersey for over 15 years with his wife. He is the proud parent of two sons and daughter, who take up the majority of his free time away from the office! His interests also include travel, movies, playing guitar and following his favorite sports teams, the NY Jets (he likes the Eagles too) and the NY Mets (sorry Philly fans!)
