About Sujana Chandrasekhar, MD, FACS
Dr. Chandrasekhar, a partner at ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP (ENTA), is an experienced otolaryngologist and surgeon who has helped thousands of patients achieve successful outcomes. She is a fellowship trained Otologist/Neurotologist, who received her undergraduate degree from Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, City College of New York, cum laude. She then went on to earn her Medical Degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at New York University Medical Center, and her fellowship in otology/neurotology at the House Ear Clinic and Institute, in Los Angeles, California.
She has held leadership positions at the most prestigious organizations in her field, serving as President of the AAO-HNS (2015-2016) where she was also Past Chair of their Board of Governors. She is on the Council of the American Otological Society, the 2nd oldest medical organization in the US, having served as Secretary/Treasurer and now President. She is Past Eastern Section Vice President and Program Chair of the Combined Sections Meeting of the Triological Society. Dr. Chandrasekhar is also a Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology, Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell and Clinical Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She is Consulting Editor of Otolaryngologic Clinics of North America, where she oversees six issues per year and records a free podcast per issue. She is co-Executive Producer and Co-Host of the web-based video show She’s On Call which had 59 episodes from June 2020 to December 2021 – you can find them all on YouTube. She is proud to serve our nation’s veterans as the Director of Neurotology at the JJ Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Bronx.
Her honors and awards, foundation memberships, professional society participations, Grant activities, presentations and publications are numerous and laudable. She is an invited speaker on topics relating to Otology, Neurotology, Leadership, Diversity and Belonging, around the world. Dr. Chandrasekhar is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in both Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and in Neurotology and is licensed in New York and New Jersey.
