About Lauren Zaretsky, MD, FACS
Dr. Lauren Zaretsky, is Board-Certified in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery as well as a partner at ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP (ENTA), and is a member of the ENTA Board of Trustees. In addition to being a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, she is also a member of the American college of surgeons. Dr. Zaretsky has dedicated over 25 years of her career caring for the health and well-being of thousands of patients.
After completing medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, she completed 2 years of general surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York and then her Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Southern California, which she completed in 1994. Dr. Zaretsky recently finished a 6-year term on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. She is also the Past Chair of the Ethics Committee for AAO-HNS as well as the past Chair of the Women in Otolaryngology Section/AAO-HNS Program's Committee. In addition, she is the Past President of the Long Island Society of Otolaryngology and still serves on that organization’s Executive committee. She holds a position of Assistant Clinical Professor at Stony Brook University.
Dr. Zaretsky has been recognized for ‘excellence in medicine’ by Castle Connolly's Top Doctors of 2019 - 2021, as well as by numerous local and national news publications.
Dr. Zaretsky sees patients covering all aspects of Otolaryngology including Pediatrics, Rhinology, Head and Neck Surgery, Laryngology, Otology, Sinus Disease, Allergy, and Sleep Disorders. Surgical procedures are currently performed by Dr. Zaretsky at John T. Mather Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, and the Port Jefferson Surgery Center. She was recently named the chief of the Division of Otolaryngology at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson.
Dr. Zaretsky sees ADULT AND PEDIATRIC patients at ENTA’s Port Jefferson Station clinical location on Long Island. Additionally, she performs a multitude of office surgical procedures that include 3D Computed Tomography image guidance office-based sinus surgery as well as balloon sinuplasty, office based intranasal reconstruction to improve breathing and congestion. Dr. Zaretsky, who has helped thousands of patients overcome their sinus problems, is fortunate to be among the first in the area to offer a breakthrough medical device for patients suffering from chronic sinusitis. Dr. Zaretsky offers the dissolvable Propel and Sinuva implants as part of her treatment options.
When placed in the ethmoid sinus following surgery, these implants decreases scarring, inflammation and polyps, reducing the need for additional surgical procedures as well as oral steroids and their potential side effects.
